Carolyn Berger was born and raised in Hawaii, U.S.A., she holds degrees in Global Environmental Sciences, Political Science, as well as a Master's in Ocean Sciences.

She moved to Europe at 24 and ran a Yacht Charter Business for sailing and wrote a Nautical Guide with the idea to help educate boaters so they could have a safe and enjoyable tour of the Aeolian Islands. She helped her friend Carmelo Isgrò build a Museum (MuMa Milazzo), has been Vice-Director since the opening in 2019, and educates others about the principles of Ocean Literacy and anthropogenic impacts. In addition, she has been a Math and Science teacher at the Benedetto XV International School in Grottaferrata, Rome, Italy, since 2022.  Carolyn has also been a Scientix Ambassador, since 2025, and is committed to promoting STEM education and fostering curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking.

Carolyn is an educator and communicator always open to professional development and collaboration/networking. She aims to promote not only a better understanding of the natural world around us, but a greater appreciation, awareness and love for our planet.
